i made a big decision a little while ago.
i don't remember what it was, which prob'ly goes to show
that many times a simple choice can prove to be essential
even though it often might appear inconsequential.

i must have been distracted when i left my house because
left or right i'm sure i went (i wonder which it was!)
anyway, i never veered: i walked in that direction
utterly absorbed, it seems, in quiet introspection.

for no reason i can think of, i've wandered far astray.
and that is how i got to where i find myself today.

heh... look out for the mac vs pc references... eva's starts with the mac's starting tones... is nice and white and pristine like the imac... and the light ring round her neck is the mac 'hourglass'.....

as for wall-e... he is well.. a few generations behind, needs parts and patches all the time... a little less sophisticated.. can't fly.. but he does play a part in saving the day. haha. is damn funny...

Oh boy i've really out-done myself this time...

back to the USA...

touched down today back in sunny california and i'm off to a sleepless start! was going to take a 1-hour nap in the late PM so i could do some work and sleep and reset my clock for tomorrow... no luck.. didn't hear any alarms till 10pm so now i'm up at 3am with a 8am meeting to go to.. home to move.. phone and car to settle.. lots of work to do.. with a mental block too.

Hmmm.

Friday night!

Yup... blogging takes a backseat in Sunny Singapore.. along with reading the news and keeping myself updated on "work stuff"... anyway.. for those that were there.. last Friday 23 May was really fun (while i was awake of course) and this time round i shall blame the absinthe.. heh.

we'll have more fun year-end.. till next time..

all that remains from 2 crazy days at Port Dickson.. who would have thought a little seaside town in Msia could be so fun? OK... so i missed out the 2 very erm.. CONCERNED FRIENDS :|

Come on guys, why is no one buying or selling anymore? I'm amassing my war chest as we speak to buy erm.. Chuanie or Angela.. but the rest of you.. come on!

Google Transit (is currently the suck)

Here I am.. on a bright wed morning.. waiting for Bar-Man and trying out new things on the web... Google Transit.. a newish service that will show ya public transport options between places.. so i try inputing my home to the airport..

Check it out here, it's asking me to take a bus to the train station (when i can walk to a nearer one) and after the train ride (correct) it tells me to WALK 23mins from the final train station to SFO (when i can transfer to the BART -- another train). funniest part below, see how it looks like it's telling me to fly across the freeway. yeah. 23mins of walking on air.

18mths later...

my near accident!

my closest call yet.. i was going straight (into the picture) on the right lane (america lah) and 4 cars were coming from the opposite direction on the left lane.. just as i approach the T junction, car no.2 suddenly turns left right in front of me without signaling and my heart stops for a brief millisecond -- i could not stop in time as it seemed too close and i was going to plow into him/her or s/he into my driver side door -- there was no farking way that we were not going to collide if we continued on-course..

anyway, as adrenaline kicked in things went into slow motion (much like the time in 1999 as i sat in front of the TV on 14 Apr watching the FA Cup semi-final replay between Man U and Arsenal in which Ryan Giggs in extra-time took the ball from the halfway line, snazzled past 4 defenders and unleashed a shot which won the game 2-1 after Roy Keane had been sent off and Peter Schmeichel saved a Bergkamp penalty.. which set the tone for the rest of the historic season in which we won the treble)..

as i was saying, things went into slow-motion as i blared my bloody horn (see i can multi-task!) and swerved the car right (into the T junction) and looked ahead in horror as the kerb (see the tree?) came into view and then swerved the car left to get back to my lane (just clearing the kerb) and then as tyres screeched (mine, all mine) and i thanked myself for buying a 205bhp Acura TSX with VSA ("The advanced vehicle stability assist system keeps the TSX on track during fast or tight turns by detecting and correcting potential understeer or oversteer...) i had to swerve the car right again back into lane as i had crossed the line into the left lane..

and then i stopped the car and turned back to look at the bloody idiot who had also kinda stopped (in horror i assume) and well well.. it was an Acura TSX too...

there. i must have done something right this year.
